Annual industrial water consumption in China is about 130 billion m3 and about 21% of the total water supply. In Europe, 16% of the annual water budget is consumed by industrial, mining, manufacturing, and energy sectors and an additional 9% by the service sector, amounting to about 20 billion m3.
Applying water conservation and water recycling measures in the corporate sector is therefore an imperative contribution to sustainable water use both in China and in Europe.
