The Seminar on SDG 6 Implementation of ACD (Asia Cooperation Dialogue) Member Countries and Progress Monitoring was convened on 21-25 October 2019 in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. The Seminar was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Water Resources of P.R. China. CEWP contributed to the seminar with this presentation.
The seminar aimed to provide a platform for policy dialogue and technical exchange, share experiences of water management and get knowledge on the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in member countries of Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD). It gathered government officials and renowned academics from ACD member countries, as well as international experts in water related domains and representatives from other countries. It generated awareness amongst all relevant actors and enhanced international cooperation and exchanges in the water sector.

SDG 6 provides a unique opportunity to accelerate progress on the 2030 Agenda due to the central role of water in reducing poverty and sustainability in all its dimensions. Identifying and understanding the inter linkages between SDG 6 and other SDGs is critical for increasing policy coherence and effectiveness at regional and national scales, and for facilitating integrated implementation of the 2030 Agenda. This event focused on the critical role of water in the realization of the SDGs.
